'Alo Alo' Limited-Edition Wild Silk Wall Art

This limited-edition contemporary textile artwork serves as a stunning artistic backdrop. Each cocoon is sustainably harvested, ironed flat, and sewn together.  The handcrafted tapestry is naturally dyed in our artisans' dye plant garden. The rustic, golden brown tone is complemented by the color gradient of the wild silk, going from dark to light. The traditional symbol is sewn in undyed wild cocoon silk. Created from the sustainably collected cocoons of Madagascar's ghostly silk moth (Ceranchia apollina) and lappet moth (Callopizoma malgassica), the iconic 'alo alo' pattern is associated with remembrance, connection, and the stories carried from one generation to the next.
