This versatile, all-gender silk scarf is a fast favorite. Its earthy tones, subtle pattern, and soothing texture give it a classic feel.

Each scarf is made from drop-spun endemic wild silk that has been naturally dyed, with accents of white mulberry silk.

Its name, "anjara," means "destiny" in Malagasy.

Completely handmade using traditional weaving methods that have been passed down from mother-to-daughter for generations, the hand-spun silk yarn is hand-woven on a floor loom. The women of the Lovasoa Cooperative carefully craft each piece in their small village in the central highlands of Madagascar.

This beautiful piece will last a lifetime.

  • Made from Borocera wild silk that is only found in Madagascar, with cultivated mulberry silk.
  • Completely hand-crafted.
  • Naturally dyed with black soil and Eucalyptus.
  • Measures 12.5” x 70”.

Your purchase directly helps a weaver in our partner cooperative to support her family. It also preserves the cultural tradition of silk weaving in Madagascar.

Each piece comes with a lovely tag that tells the story of the silk and has care instructions.

Washing instructions: Dry cleaning is recommended. Or you can steam iron on a low-ish setting to refresh the scarf from time to time without washing. This gives it a lovely sheen.
