This collaborative modern folk art piece is hand-crafted by our artisans in the rainforests of Madagascar. Its name, 'Mangabe', translates to 'big blue', honoring the wondrous island just offshore in Madagascar's Bay of Antongil. The piece depicts reflections of flora and sky on moving waters. It is made from Ceranchia apollina, Argema mittrei, and Callopizoma malgassica wild cocoons - forms of silk only found in Madagascar, as well as cultivated mulberry silk.  Each piece is skillfully constructed using an inventive textile collaging technique.

  • Measures 22" wide x 22" tall
  • Made of Madagascar silk cocoons
  • Hand-crafted from start to finish in Madagascar
  • Fair Trade and Certified Wildlife Friendly
