This stunning blue scarf is hand-woven from wild Borocera silk, a species of silk only found in Madagascar.  It's name 'paradisa' translates to 'paradise' in Madagascar, as the blue of oceans and skies will carry you away.  There is a subtle stripe that adds interest, a lighter tone and slightly darker tone of blue.

It is 100% Madagascar silk and is handmade using traditional weaving methods that have been passed down from mother-to-daughter for generations. The women of the Lovasoa Cooperative carefully craft each piece in their small village in the central highlands of Madagascar.

  • Made from Borocera wild silk.
  • Completely hand-crafted. The silk yarn is hand spun with a drop spindle, hand dyed, and handwoven on a floor loom.
  • Measures 12.5” x 70”

Your purchase directly helps a weaver in this cooperative support her family. It also preserves the cultural tradition of silk weaving in Madagascar.

Each piece comes with a lovely tag that tells the story of the silk and has washing instructions.

Washing instructions: Dry cleaning recommended. Steam iron as desired.

There may be slight variations in size and color due to the handcrafted process.

gorgeous scarves

I hate getting dressed up. These scarves let me look much dressier so easily. People always ask to feel their texture and are very intrigued by the idea of wild silk. I've given these scarves as graduation presents--young people love them and the story behind them!
