Wild Silk is a delightful book written by Tim Barclay about the fictional (but based on fact) village of Ambatobe that learned how to farm silkworms. The story opens with Jean asking his grandfather, Rakoto, how he worked to help save the lemurs by farming caterpillars. The book is illustrated with photographs of the rainforest, wildlife, caterpillars and of course Jean, Rakoto and their friends.  It is packed with information about the biology of caterpillars, beautifully illustrated with photographs of lemurs, the forest and village and people.
