This silk scarf is an all-natural work of art.  It's 100% undyed (completely natural) Madagascar silk, and is crafted from two different species of silk: 1) Cultivated Mulberry Silk which is the white silk in the warp.  2) Wild Borocera Silk, which is only found in Madagascar.  It's the "linen" colored silk in the weft.  The softly contrasting warp and weft give this scarf a complex texture and shimmering glow sure to catch the eye.

This piece is completely hand-crafted:  hand spun yarn, and hand woven on a floor loom. The women of the Lovasoa Cooperative craft each piece in their small village in the central highlands of Madagascar.

This scarf contains 100% natural Madagascar silk.  This beautiful piece will last a lifetime.

Your purchase directly helps a weaver in this cooperative support her family. It also preserves the cultural tradition of silk weaving in Madagascar.

Each piece comes with a lovely tag that tells the story of the silk and has washing instructions.

Washing instructions: Hand-wash with any kind of soap. Lay flat to dry. Iron while still damp to give it a lovely sheen. Separately, you can steam iron it on a low-ish setting to refresh it from time to time without washing. This gives it a lovely sheen.  Dry cleaning is also fine.

gorgeous scarves

I hate getting dressed up. These scarves let me look much dressier so easily. People always ask to feel their texture and are very intrigued by the idea of wild silk. I've given these scarves as graduation presents--young people love them and the story behind them!
