These square wild cocoon silk and raffia collages are handmade by a local volunteer artist with snippets of natural and hand-dyed silk and raffia from Madagascar. The collage is mounted on a wooden square frame and is ready to hang on your wall. Consider purchasing several and make a grouping for added impact. Each collage is a unique work of art and is 6” x 6”.
The non-woven textiles used in the collage are made in Madagascar from wild gathered and farm raised cocoons using a no-kill process that is sustainable and eco-friendly. The collages are made from a variety of wild gathered cocoon species. Some of the cocoons are left natural in color and some are dyed in eye-pleasing colors.
The textiles used in this collage art were sustainably sourced and made in Madagascar by CPALI, a poverty alleviation NGO in north eastern Madagascar that invests in local leadership, community ownership and links these partners to global markets. 100% of the profits from Ta’na’na Silk are returned to Madagascar.
