The full moon rising over Makira Natural Park just outside of our artisan community in Madagascar is a magical sight to behold. It inspired this wall hanging which brings that stunning natural beauty into your home. This piece is hand-crafted from Ceranchia wild silk, which is a species of silk only found in Madagascar. The silk cocoons are sustainably harvested, ironed flat, and sewn together. Then it is naturally dyed with plant material grown in our artisans' garden. This piece is dyed with a local plant called Hazovola (meaning 'money tree'), which gives the beautiful rose gold color. The gold moon is the natural undyed color of the wild silk. Comes with a bamboo pole for easy hanging.
