This beauty was inspired from wild blue African skies - specifically the wide open sky in Madagascar. This scarf's earthy yet modern look make it an easy favorite.
It is 100% Madagascar silk and completely handmade using traditional methods that have been passed down from mother-to-daughter for generations. The women of the Lovasoa Cooperative carefully craft each piece in their small village in the central highlands of Madagascar.
- This scarf is made from two different species of Madagascar silk: 1) Borocera wild silk which is only found in Madagascar. The "linen" colored yarn is undyed Borocera silk and the turquoise blue yarn is dyed Borocera silk. 2) Cultivated mulberry silk which is the white yarn. This is its undyed natural color.
- The silk yarn is hand spun with a drop spindle, hand dyed, and handwoven on a floor loom.
- Measures 12.5” x 70”
Each piece comes with a lovely tag that tells the story of the silk and has washing instructions.
Washing instructions: Dry cleaning recommended. Steam iron as desired.
There may be slight variations due to the handcrafted process.
